AND NANOMATERIALS

Nanomaterials are almost invisible, but efficient even in very low concentrations

For some time the materials are no longer those found in nature, but are designed and manufactured to measure, in relation to their final use. In 1959 the physicist Richard Feynman hypothesized that in the future new products would be made by operating directly on the position of atoms in matter. He summarized this prediction with the famous phrase: "In the small there is a lot of space". Based on the simulation of biological, physical and chemical phenomena existing in nature, nanotechnologies have made it possible to produce nanomaterials, directly intervening on the arrangement of molecules in the structure of a material. Today, nanomaterials have fulfilled Feynman's prophecy and products with dimensions from 1 to 100 nanometers (1 nanometer = 1 billionth of a meter!) Are gaining increasing interest. Their properties depend above all on their very small size: they are almost invisible, but efficient even in very low concentrations, and they can be active, that is, with the ability to react to external stimuli. The Steikos range of FOSENERGY coatings uses active ingredients based on nanomaterials obtained by chemical synthesis in a suitable solvent. The liquid form, unlike the powder one, ensures superior quality, greater safety and respect for the environment, because it does not require the dispersion of the powders in the solvent before use.

A BETTER WORLD

The principles of Steikos are based on the protection of health, conservation of nature and the maintenance of historical and architectural heritage

Normally the air we breathe, both inside and outside, is polluted by numerous substances that are harmful to health. Pollutants, in addition to worsening the quality of life, also contribute to the deterioration of the surfaces of buildings and the degradation of cities. Most of the pollutants are of organic and inorganic origin: exhaust gases, emissions from thermal plants, industrial waste, fumes, smog, molds and bacteria, volatile compounds, fine dust. Today there is a growing sensitivity towards adopting behaviors and lifestyles that are more respectful of oneself and the environment. This new culture that is emerging, oriented towards the protection of health, the conservation of nature and the maintenance of historical and architectural heritage, sees everyone committed to building "A better world." Steikos fully shares these principles which are the essence of its mission, and actively participates in the construction of "A better world" with its products suitable for exercising three actions

    Air purification >> Antimicrobial and anti-odor action >> Self-cleaning of surfaces >>
